If content is the king of a site, traffic is the queen. Traffic is the key to success for a publishers. It is not difficult to attract visitors to your site for the first time. You may place your URL in the forum, Yahoo answer, email or in bulletin board. It is basic instict of people to visit a new site. So at the first page you may get good number of traffic. But after a certain period of time your traffic may decrease day by day. The reason is that people are not willing to visit a site which is boring. If you are able to convert your visitors as constant traffic, your success is not far ahead. It is natural that traffic may overflowed into your site for a short period of time. How to add a clock to your blog

Someone asked for it, so I might as well answer in a post. There are many sites offering such clocks. One such site is ClockLink. Just click "Get HTML" and in the pop-up, you can select the color to match your site, the time zone. Then just copy the script and paste it into HTML/Javascript of Add a Page Element in the LAYOUT.

Really as simple as that.

How to find the width of your blog Header, sidebar and main column

Got a question from a blog reader about how to go about finding the width of the blog Header, so I thought I might as well make a post to let more people know about it.

To get the width of the blog Header, sidebars, main column, sign into Dashboard. In the section for the relevant blog, click LAYOUT, then click EDIT TEMPLATE. This will open the template editor window. Search through the templates for the following:

These codes are from the template of this blog. The first block of codes tells me that the width of the Header is 750 pixels. The second block says the main column width is 400 pixels. The last two block of codes tells me that both the sidebars are of width 150 pixels.

Bloggers need home IT support

I don't know about you, but my field is science, not IT.
